To help you excel in your career as an M&V professional, CIET offers two courses that will increase your skill set and leave you with valuable knowledge to apply to any project.
Advanced Measurement and Verification and Certified Measurement Verification Professional (CMVP) both provide solid benefits, but how do you distinguish between them?
The CMVP is a certification-based training program, where the material is presented to prepare you specifically for the CMVP exam. As a result, much of the course time is spent on the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP), as well as key calculations and methodologies in order to better prepare you to pass the exam and earn the designation. Conversely, the Advanced M&V program does not have an exam component. Therefore, this course can allot more time to imparting pragmatic examples of case studies, M&V plan development, and statistical analysis that you will likely encounter when working on projects.
The ideal participant for M&V training will relate to one of the following groups:
A quick overview of the CMVP course
The Certified Measurement and Verification Professional program will review reasons for M&V, IPMVP, developing an M&V plan, emissions trading, baseline adjustments, key elements of success, and more so you can take away key M&V knowledge and skills.

A quick overview of Advanced M&V
With a focus on statistical tools for M&V, this training will focus on sampling, linear regressions (including multi-variable regression), and uncertainty calculations. The use of exercises will help reinforce the concepts. You will also review practical examples for lighting, motor and variable speed drives, compressed air, heat recovery system and a commercial building where you will perform calculations.
The benefit of this training is that you will gain the knowledge and then actually develop an M&V plan at the end of the second day.
