The Introduction to Energy Modelling course provides a perfect starting point for participants who need to understand what an energy model is, how to build a model in either eQuest or CAN-QUEST, and how to demonstrate compliance with the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB).
This one-day course provides an overview of the requirements of the NEBC and a description of the three compliance paths (prescriptive, trade-off, and performance). During the training, participants are also taken through a case study model of a commercial building to understand what details are included in models and the factors that make an energy model successful and compliant.
eQuest and CAN-QUEST are powerful energy modelling software tools used to support the design of high-performance commercial and institutional buildings. They are also used to assess and demonstrate performance path compliance with the NECB.
