The Canadian Institute for Energy Training (CIET) has recently been awarded a standing offer from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) to provide federal-government employees with training in energy and greenhouse gas (GHG) management. This training will enable participants to build their department’s institutional capacity to identify energy saving and GHG reduction opportunities and act on them. This initial one-year standing offer can be renewed for the subsequent four years.

This opportunity will not only strengthen CIET’s position as the Canadian leader in energy management training, but also position it favorably to offer its expanding portfolio of training on GHG-related subject matter. World leaders and sustainability professionals gathered at COP 23 in Bonn recently reminded us that GHG and climate change will become an increasingly hot topic in the coming years.
