The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) announced this week that Emily Thorn Corthay has been awarded the 2020 International Energy Engineer of the Year award. This award is presented to an individual for outstanding accomplishments in promoting the practices, principles and procedures of energy engineering, and for superior service to the Association. Although this award would generally be handed out at the annual AEE World conference, given the parameters imposed by the current COVID pandemic, the awards ceremony will be held virtually on October 14, 2020.
In addition to being the President and Founder of Thorn Associates, which specializes in helping industrial companies reduce energy use and carbon emissions, Emily has been an instructor with CIET for more than 5 years in Canada. She is one of our lead trainers for both the Certified Energy Manager program, as well as the brand new Heat Integration for Industrial Processes (HIIP).
Congratulations Emily, and thanks for all your contributions to our EE industry!
