Kyle Aben owns Carbon Realities Consulting and is as a climate change professional who has focused on greenhouse gas accounting since 2008. Along with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business and Regulatory Policy and a Master’s Degree focused on Global Environmental Policy, Kyle has also completed training in ISO 14064 (GHG Accounting, GHG Projects, and GHG Validation/Verification), the GHG Protocol (GHG Life-Cycle-Assessments) and earned a Greenhouse Gas Inventory Quantification (GHG-IQ) certificate through the Canadian Standards Association in 2012.
Kyle has quantified emissions for companies of all sizes, universities, local governments, communities, a BC heritage site, the 2015 Canada Winter Games and has had millions of tonnes of carbon verified by third parties. Kyle has taught Carbon Accounting and Energy Management at the University of Northern British Columbia and at the former Quest University in Squamish. In addition to teaching, Kyle has gained experience working for organizations like the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions, The David Suzuki Foundation, and West Fraser Timber.
