Program Overview

The Measurement and Verification Essentials course presents the key components of energy savings as well as measurement and verification (M&V) principles by providing participants with a foundational understanding of M&V. This course caters to a diverse audience including general practitioners, experts, and managers. Evaluating the performance of energy conservation measures is essential in demonstrating project success, optimizing facility operations, securing financial assistance, and raising awareness among facility users. This course also teaches participants how to assess external energy efficiency initiatives, regional efficiency programs, and internal projects.

This one-day workshop covers the fundamental principles of M&V, including the impacts and roles of each step in the M&V process. Practical examples are provided to illustrate key concepts.

You will leave this course with comprehensive knowledge of M&V principles and an understanding of M&V steps in relation to energy efficiency projects to enable you to understand M&V plans.

In this course, you will learn to

  • Define M&V.
  • Contextualize the use of M&V.
  • Understand how to use M&V protocols.
  • Determine the positive impacts of M&V.
  • Justify the value of energy efficiency projects.

This course is ideal for
