Building energy modelling is a key process used in retrofit design, code compliance, and real-time building control for commercial and institutional buildings. The modelling process permits modellers to include factors such as building performance, climate data, construction materials, architectural design, heaving, ventilation, and air conditioning, as well as building analysis.

Designed for those who have completed the Building Energy Modelling Essentials course and are familiar with basic modelling concepts, this three-day Energy Modelling Professional course is aimed at providing energy design decisionmakers with the knowledge required for the energy model development process. It is focused on introducing participants to EnergyPlus, the most advanced energy modelling software developed by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

  • Day one provides hands-on experience with the software by teaching participants how to set it up for success.
  • Day two and day three provide interactive modelling case studies that participants work through and complete with coaching and assistance from the CIET instructor.

The Building Energy Modelling Professional course provides participants with the tools needed to execute energy modelling projects and achieve building compliance. Participants also learn by completing case studies that will reinforce their knowledge and understanding of energy modelling.

Ready to take the next step in energy modelling and compliance for buildings? Our Advanced Building Energy Modelling course will give you the tools you need to execute the modelling process.
