The Advanced Energy Advisor course builds on the knowledge that participants will have gained by completing the Energy Advisor Training. The focus of this training program will be the data entry and modelling involved in working through a case study project of a home, with specific emphasis on unique features. The case study goes beyond the filing of a probationary file to include a detailed and in-depth review of upgrade options for the building envelope, key benefits and considerations, and an analysis of financial and greenhouse gas emissions for available upgrade options.
The program will also focus on the mechanical perspective, and how different types of mechanical systems integrate into a home, how they can be integrated with renewable energy systems, and how these systems interact with each other.
The case study portion of the program will offer participants the opportunity to consider various geographical locations and utility structures that are at play across different regions in Canada. In Addition, we will complete a financial review of the case study, and empower participants to prepare a one-page proposal.
