Hemant Grover

Hemant Grover is an accomplished leader in energy and climate change, with 20 years of extensive international experience across both the public and private sectors. He holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Management (with distinction) and a Bachelor's in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. His credentials are further strengthened by global certifications, including Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP), Certified Sustainable Building Operator (CSBO), and Certified Renewable Energy Professional (CREP).

A recognized thought leader, Hemant was honored with the 2024 CaGBC Government Leadership Award and nominated for the 2024 Canada Clean50. His strategic change management and cross-functional leadership have established him as a national voice in decarbonization and energy strategy, with speaking engagements at FCM, AMO, CaGBC, and other major forums.

Through the UNIDO program, Hemant led multiple ISO 50001 implementations, conducted internal audits, and co-facilitated seven ISO 50001 training sessions—ranging from 2-day workshops to immersive 5-day on-site training as well as two ISO 50001 Lead Auditor courses.

He has consistently built and mentored diverse teams, developed technical standards, and delivered impactful energy and sustainability training programs. In his various roles Hemant has led transformative projects from developing and implementing Net Zero Emissions standards for new construction and building retrofits to implementing a long-term emissions reduction strategy for affordable housing and long-term care facilities covering a wide array of low-carbon and renewable energy technologies.
