Program Overview

This course provides an in-depth understanding of HOT2000 software.

The aim of the Advanced HOT2000 User program is to ensure the proficiency of participants in utilizing it to its full extent for more complicated and extensive projects, including:

  • STEP Code
  • Tier Code
  • Other related code compliance requirements. 

This course also allows for a more detailed understanding and review of the reports with their specific outputs and how these are to be interpreted. Additionally, we will be reviewing and learn to understand multiple foundation types, modelling of MURB buildings, renewable energy systems, complex building envelopes, and non-typical mechanical systems.

Note: This course is highly recommended for those who have already used and understand HOT2000 but want to gain a more detailed knowledge and understanding of the software.

 

Key Learning Objectives 

By taking this training, students will have acquired knowledge of: 

  • Full understanding of HOT2000 use and application for building code compliance
  • How to create custom components, fuel cost libraries, and code libraries
  • Gaining a full and complete knowledge of the House Wizard and its limitations
  • A full and detailed understanding of how to model different types of equipment 
  • Generating and interpreting reports, including running comparative reports
