Recently added to CIET’s roster of sustainable energy programs, the 1-day Introduction to RETScreen® Expert course has been created for newer users of the software, or individuals that are just starting to be involved in the analysis or management of energy use in buildings and facilities. The course features both presentations for our trainers, as well as hands-on use and exercises in RETScreen®. The day will culminate with a few knowledge-based exercises.
The RETScreen® Expert Software is an intelligent decision support tool that enables stakeholders to rapidly identify, assess, optimize and track the performance of clean energy investments over the entire project life cycle. The software can be used to evaluate:
By taking the Introduction to RETScreen® Expert course, participants will learn to get the most out of the software and be presented with an overview of key tools, such as feasibility analysis, performance analysis, and portfolio analysis that they can start to use in their own projects. When they are ready to take the next step in proficiency, The Certified RETScreen® Expert program will be available to guide participants through more complex projects and functionality.

Dragos Paraschiv is a licensed professional engineer in the Province of Ontario and a Professor of Sustainable Energy and Building Technology at Humber College in Toronto, Canada. His experience in energy management includes design of commercial building electrical and mechanical systems, central plant retrofit projects, as well as development of community energy management plans and pilot projects. Dragos has gained experience in all aspects of energy related projects, including auditing, design, performance measurement and verification, contract administration and project management. Dragos has a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Power Engineering.
Adam brings a new and fresh approach to energy management, specializing in energy performance analysis and residential sector services. Adam works behind the scenes as an energy analyst in support for energy audits while also providing support to the development of TdS Dixon’s well known energy training services.
