The CMVP designation is the most recognised certification in measurement and verification (M&V) - the process of planning, measuring, collecting, and analysing data for the purposes of verifying and reporting energy savings within an individual facility resulting from the implementation of energy conservation measures (ECMs). Simply put, M&V provides verifiable proof of the effectiveness of an organisation and/or building energy management practices.
During this three-day course, participants will be exposed to:
This training prepares you to carry out your own M&V projects and develop your own basic plans as well as prepare you to take on the CMVP exam and earn this impactful professional designation awarded by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).
As a bonus, this course also includes tips and tricks on how to use the RETScreen Expert Clean Energy Management software to apply course lessons learned as well as a free 90-day subscription to the Professional version of RETScreen Expert.
CIET is the exclusively authorised Canadian trainer of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) for the delivery of the Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) training and certification program. The CMVP certification is recognized, required and otherwise supported in numerous public and private entities. In Canada, the CMVP is frequently listed as a key qualification on job announcements, but IPMVP and CMVP are most notably recognized in the following ways:
All CMVP candidates must complete theFundamentals of Measurement & Verification 3-day Training Program. After completing your seminar registration, go to STEP TWO below.
This document contains step-by-step instructions that show the invite and scheduling process: ProctorU_Invite and scheduling process
Sample emails that candidates can expect to receive from ProctorU are shown here: ProctorU-sample-Email-Examples
Details about the onboarding process can be found here: ProctorU_OnboardingProcess
Information for candidates themselves to troubleshoot issues with ports, firewalls, and the LogMeIn Rescue Applet are provided in the following document: Procotor U-troubleshooting issues
Should you wish to reschedule your exam under another cohort, you may do so yourself through the same link remitted by Proctor U, however you must reschedule no later than 72 hours before your scheduled exam time.
Should you wish to postpone the exam to the next session, there is a $150 + tax penalty fee unless you demonstrate medical proof.
You should expect to receive your exam results by email within 60 days of taking the exam. If you have successfully passed the exam and your candidacy has been approved by the certification board, you should expect to receive your certificate by mail within 45 days of receiving your exam results. If you failed the exam, you would have the possibility to retake it after at least 60 days of the original examination date.
Your CMVP Application form must be submited before your score can be released. Please do not call CIET about your test results before the end this outlined delay period.
You must contact CIET at info@cietcanada.com to register for your exam retake. The costs are the following: $425 plus taxes.
If you receive a passing score and have submitted your CMVP Application form, and if your file is complete including all supporting documents, your file will be sent to the Certification Board for final review. You will be notified at that time that you will receive the Board's approval or denial within sixty days.
A Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP) may use the designation with name on organization letterhead, business cards, and all forms of address. Certification is for individuals only. The CMVP designation may not be used to imply that an organization or firm is certified.
Your completed application must be received 3 weeks prior to date of the examination for which you wish to sit in order to guarantee that you are pre-registered for the examination. After this date, you may be required to complete a waiver on-site if your name is not pre-registered.
Upon completion of the official CMVP title, a CMVP must accumulate ten professional continuing education units (10 CEU's) every three years at a cost of US $300 (converted into Canadian dollars) and submit a completed Renewal Form to the Certification Renewal Director to remain certified. CMVP renewal notices are mailed in the 3rd year of certification six months prior to the expiration date, which falls on December 31 of that year.
