Ian Ball

Ian Ball

Ian Ball is a building engineer and team leader of commissioning services with TST. He started his career in 1991 as a construction engineer in Hong Kong. In 1994, he returned to Quebec and continued his career as a project manager on heat recovery projects and was involved in their design, installation, load calculations, controls, commissioning and monitoring. Between 2004 and 2011, Ian worked on numerous projects dealing with energy efficiency, commissioning and LEED certification. He has successfully obtained over $2M of financial incentives from various energy efficiency grant programs for his clients.  In 2008 he received a Laureate (1st place) from the AQME Energia competition in the category existing buildings energy efficiency projects.  Ian is a CBCP and also a member of the Mechanical Sub-Committee for the CSA Standard Z-320 for Building Commissioning and the Building Commissioning Association Eastern Canadian Chapter. He has successfully delivered numerous workshops for the D2$ program since 2009 (12 workshops, 6 in past 5 years).

Nasreddine Guerfala

Nasreddine Guerfala

Nasreddine Guerfala is a professional engineer with 14 years of experience in the energy efficiency and sustainability field in North Africa, Canada and United States.

He was Director, Energy for a district energy company in Toronto (Enwave). Nasreddine was also a Manager, Strategy and Business development for Hydro One leading growth initiatives in battery storage and EV charging. Nasreddine serves now as the Vice President Business Development for TruGrid, an EPC company in Solar and Battery storage in Canada and US.

Nasreddine is also the President of Association of Energy Engineers Greater Toronto Area chapter.

Nasreddine holds a Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering from University of Tunis, A master of Applied Sciences from University of Sherbrooke and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Toronto Metropolitan University.

Saad Khan

Saad Khan

Saad Khan is passionate about the HVAC industry and decarbonization. With over 10 years of experience in the HVAC industry, he has specialized in retrofits, energy efficiency, and the design and commissioning of central heating and cooling plants. He has a deep understanding of the technical, economic, and environmental aspects of decarbonization. Saad has been involved in some very innovative HVAC decarbonization projects in Canada, such as the 100 Yonge St and the Royal York Hotel in Toronto, both of which have achieved the CAGBC Zero Carbon Certification. He is currently leading a decarbonization project team at Continual Energy Inc.

Saad is an instructor with the Canadian Institute for Energy Training (CIET), where he teaches courses on Building Automation Systems and Heat Pumps.

 He is also a mentor for aspiring engineers. In his free time, he enjoys reading, cooking, and camping.
