The International Institute for Energy Training (IIET) offers an advanced measurement and verification training program for CMVPs who want to learn more about M&V. This 2-day program covers several statistical tools as well as various examples and case studies as well as development of an M&V plan. This course is designed for an in-depth understanding of the concepts covered in the basic course leading to the Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) accreditation. The course also features concrete examples and case studies.
- Building/industry owners who wish to measure their projects’ energy savings
- Building/industry owners who wish to partner with ESCOs to implement energy efficiency (EE) projects
- Employees responsible for EE program evaluation and operation
- Engineering/professional firms specialized in energy efficiency
- ESCO employees required toprepare M&V plans
*Owning the CMVP certification is not a prerequisite to the course but is strongly recommended.
This session is part of DUBAI ENERGY EFFICIENCY TRAINING PROGRAM. For more information, please follow the link.
The Dubai Energy Efficiency Training Program is an initiative to achieve Dubai’s 2030 ambitious energy vision by the Dubai Government, mandated by the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE) and led by TAQATI (part of Etihad Energy Services), the AMV course is offered in collaboration with The British University in Dubai (BUiD).
Statistical Tools for M&V (Day 1)
This one-day module recaps the main features of M&V and focuses on the use of various statistical tools for developing M&V plans, such as: sampling, linear regression (including multi-variables regression), uncertainty calculations. Exercises to be performed by the attendees will reinforce the learning process.
Practical Examples and Case Studies (Day 2)
Practical examples will be reviewed for Options A, B and C, for the following cases: lighting, motor & variable speed drives, compressed air, heat recovery system and a commercial building. Attendees will also have to perform calculations for these cases. The day will conclude with the development of an M&V plan for an industrial process.
Mr. Dahiya is involved in the retro-commissioning of existing buildings and the conducting of HVAC training.
His focus is to improve the operational efficiency of HVAC systems in existing buildings by:
– designing retrofit solutions;
– defining operating procedures;
– monitoring chiller parameters and running diagnostics;
– providing HVAC training for site managers, engineers and operators ;
His experience has been that there is more than 10% inefficiency that can be immediately addressed with low-cost or no-cost HVAC measures in buildings.
Mr. Dahiya is a LEED AP, a CMVP and a Lead Auditor of ISO 50001. He is a CMVP Trainer and has conducted many CMVP workshops in India and Dubai.
He taught also the 18th and 19th batch of young engineers at ISHRAE Education & Research Foundation (www.ierfeducation.org) in 2014-2015 and was one of the trainers of the first EUREM Energy Efficiency Specialist training programs in Delhi (July-September 2015).
He is working with Stellar Group, Advant Group, Fortis Hospital, Noida and Infosys Ltd.
