Overview
This public webinar is intended to introduce the ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems standard, the Ready Navigator tool, and the 50001 Ready Canada recognition program.
The ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management System (EnMS) standard facilitates integrating energy efficiency into management practices, promoting awareness about energy use, reinforcing good energy management behaviours, and making better use of energy consuming assets and processes. NRCan launched the 50001 Ready Canada program and Ready Navigator tool to encourage leadership in the field and improve energy performance in Canada. The tool enables organizations to monitor their progress toward implementing the ISO 50001:2018 EnMS standard.
This one-hour webinar provides an overview of the basics of establishing an effective energy management system within an organization. Participants gain insights into ISO 50001:2018 and the 50001 Ready recognition to enable them to understand their roles and contribute to the success of their organization.
The webinar showcases the features of Ready Navigator, a free online tool, while contextualizing the tasks needed to achieve the 50001 Ready Canada recognition and meet the requirements of the ISO 50001:2018 standard.

We have had great success with the NRCan Foundation Level Exam Exam Prep course and the Making the Case for Energy Management Projects. We look forward to offering more training programs to our trade allies.
CIET provides the BEST example of how program certification information should be provided. Its personal, with dates relevant to me and my timelines, and also communicates future events.
We very much appreciate the efforts you have invested in virtual learning and encourage you to maintain this format. This cuts costs and optimizes time for everyone.
A couple of months back, I was an unemployed immigrant new graduate looking for learning opportunities to enhance my skills when one of my friends shared with me about the discounted price for the Energy Management Professional 101 (EMP) course during this pandemic. I am really happy about what CIET is doing now. You guys are impacting so many young professionals like me.
My background in energy efficiency was primarily at the industrial process level, so I chose to train with CIET to expand my knowledge on building energy systems. I completed the Advanced Course on Existing Building Commissioning (EBCx) as well as the two courses on Building Automation Systems. The new concepts I learned, enhanced by the knowledge of the trainers and the other participants, quickly helped me identify opportunities relating to energy, comfort, and maintenance, most often "low cost" ones.
