Training and certification / CMVP
This seminar is designed in part to prepare candidates for certification through the AEE/EVO Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP)® program. The verification of energy savings is an important aspect of energy management initiatives, and has a direct impact on project financing, greenhouse gas emission credit trading, and energy performance contracting. The most widely accepted protocol for savings verification is the International Performance Measurement & Verification Protocol (IPMVP). Participants in the CMVP Seminar will learn how to design an M&V strategy for projects that complies with the IPMVP, and to manage the savings verification process for both internal and external reporting.
The training course is based on the 2010 version of the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP).
The CMVP certification is acquired through:
- The recognition of existing relevant qualifications and experience
- A two-day training course covering in detail the concepts and practical approaches related to the design and implementation of performance measurement and verification plans for energy efficiency projects
- Successfully passing the examination
In Quebec, the CIET offers this certification under an exclusive agreement with the Association québécoise pour la maîtrise de l'énergie (AQME). Visit www.aqme.org to register for events in Quebec.
